- Internships start's May to August or December to March.
Eligibility Criteria for Outreachy Internship Program 2021-22:
- Participants can be from anywhere in the world.
- Candidates must be 18 years of age at the time of the internship.
- The candidate should be able to work full time i.e. 40 hours per week.
- Candidates who are on any part-time job can apply but must meet the 40-hour internship week standard.
- Candidates who take leave from their full-time employment cannot apply. However, if they are willing to leave their full-time job for an internship, they are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Students can also apply if their school or university frees them for 42 days for classes and exams.
- If students are in the United States on study visas, they must be allowed to work 40 hours a week for their visas.
- If the candidate belongs to the Northern Hemisphere, he can only apply for the May-August internship cycle, regardless of where he lives.
- Indian candidates are also considered from the Northern Hemisphere.
- Candidates wishing to apply for the December-March cycle are from the Southern Hemisphere.
- Candidates from the Equator can apply for both bicycles.
- Candidates who are already interns in Google Summer of Code cannot apply.

- Interns will receive a total stipend of US 5,000 for three months.
- The intern will receive a 500 travel grant.

How to Apply for the OIP:
- Candidates should start applying online 2-3 weeks before the deadline as it is a long process.
- The candidate has to choose 1-2 projects for outreach internship.
- There will be some work in this project which the applicant has to do on the basis of mutual cooperation.
- Once applicants have contributed to the flavor, it should be recorded on the Outreach website.
- To record a partnership, the applicant must go to the community landing page linked to the project listing page and then click the "Record Country Butt Button".
- Candidates must submit the link and contribution before the deadline.
- Once the candidate has uploaded or recorded the partnership, click on the "Update Partnership" and "Apply to this project" buttons.

- Applying for this internship is a long process as it involves questions that need to be answered keeping in mind the word limit and the summary of the inquiry.
- The application contains an article containing the following questions.
- In which country will you live from December 06-2021 to March 04-2022?
- Are you part of an under-represented group?
- How low is your representation?
- What kind of military bias or discrimination would you face if you applied for a job in the technology industry in your country?
- Are there people in your learning environment who share your identity or background? Please provide details?
- What systemic bias and discrimination did you encounter while building your skills?
- (Optional question) Content threatening, which may include hard words such as war, sexual harassment, or violence.
